Privacy Policy

• Only a parent or guardian (an adult) can create an account.
• We store your email, your children's first names and their game progress, only to run Totstikes.
• No ads, no advertising trackers, no analytics tools, and we never sell or rent your information.
• Children can't chat, share, post, or contact anyone in Totstikes.
• You can ask us to delete everything at any time: contact@totstikes.com.

Totstikes ("we", "us") is operated by KingsMakers, Ontario, Canada. For any privacy question or request, email contact@totstikes.com.

From you, the parent or guardian:

• Your email address and a password to sign in. Passwords are handled by Google Firebase Authentication; we never see or store them in plain text.
• The date your account was created (used for your free month).

About each child profile you create:

• A first name (or nickname), and optionally an age and grade/level, plus a fun avatar picture.
• Learning progress: which activities they played, their score (for example 7 out of 8), when they played, their daily streak and stars, and which letters, words or items they found tricky, so we can help them practise.

We do not ask for a child's last name, photo, address, school, email, phone number or location. Please use a first name or nickname only.

If you subscribe to Premium:

• Payments are handled by Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe and are never stored on our servers.
• We keep your Stripe customer ID and your subscription status (for example active, trial, or cancelled, and the renewal date) so we know which games to unlock.

If you allow notifications: your browser gives us a technical "push address" for that device. We keep it with your account only to send your family's daily play reminder, and use it for nothing else. Turning notifications off in your browser or device settings stops the reminders.

If you email us, we keep the conversation so we can help you.

Basic technical information: like any website, our hosting provider automatically records standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and the page requested) to keep the service secure and working.

• No advertising, and no advertising or analytics trackers (no Google Analytics, no Meta/Facebook Pixel, and similar).
• No selling, renting or trading of personal information, ever.
• No microphone or camera access. The friendly voice in the games is your device's own built-in text-to-speech; nothing is recorded.
• No chat, messaging, public profiles or sharing features for children.
• No links for children to other apps or websites inside the games.

• To create and secure your account and let you sign in.
• To save each child's progress, streaks and stars, and show them to you.
• To manage your free trial and Premium subscription.
• To send a daily play reminder, only if you allow notifications, and only on days your child hasn't played yet.
• To reply to your emails and send essential account messages (for example a password-reset email you request).
• To keep Totstikes safe, fix problems and improve the games.

We don't send marketing emails without your permission.

We only share information with trusted service providers who help us run Totstikes, and only what they need:

• Google Firebase (Google LLC): sign-in and secure database storage.
• Vercel: website hosting.
• Stripe: subscription payments (Premium only).
• ImprovMX and Google (Gmail): delivering emails sent to contact@totstikes.com.
• Your browser's push service (for example Google, Apple or Mozilla): delivering reminder notifications, only if you allow them.

These providers may store and process information on servers outside Canada (for example in the United States), where it may be subject to the laws of those countries. We may also disclose information if required by law.

Totstikes is designed to be used by children with a parent's or guardian's permission. Only an adult can create an account and add child profiles; children don't create accounts or give us their own contact details. Payment and account settings are protected behind a "grown-ups only" question.

As the parent or guardian, you can review, correct or delete your child's information at any time, and you can ask us to stop collecting it by deleting the profile or your account. Just email contact@totstikes.com.

Totstikes stores a few small settings in your browser so the app works smoothly: for example, which child is playing, and whether you've already been asked to install the app or allow notifications. Your browser also keeps offline copies of some app files so Totstikes loads quickly. None of this is used for advertising or tracking.

We keep your information while your account is open. To delete your account and all child profiles and progress, email contact@totstikes.com from your account email. We'll delete it within 30 days. Stripe keeps its own payment records as required by financial and tax laws.

You can ask to see the information we hold about you and your children, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email contact@totstikes.com and we'll reply within 30 days. If you have a concern we haven't resolved, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.

Information is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and stored with Google Firebase, which protects it with industry-standard security. Our database rules only let each parent access their own family's data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work hard to protect your information.

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change is important, we'll let you know in the app or by email before it takes effect.
